How hard do you think it would be to replace the foam filter on the SRI? I have heard that foam doesnt do too good a job at stoping tiny particles and I was also thinking about getting and Apexi filter. Also how much of a loss in gains will i get from a SRI instead of CAI I live in Texas where it gets pretty hot under the engine bay.
I have an article somewhere in my computer where they tested out filters. HKS and Greddy are foam based filters and you are right they did not do so good filtering out particles. The advatages to these filters is they are nearly half the size of conventiaonal cone intake...good for our cars cuz they take up less space. I also heard they breath better because of the foam. They were designed to be cheap and disposable...yet give you good airflow. The best filter to get was Apexi power intake. Foam shouldnt be a problem unless you plan on rallying your car and drawing all that dirt under the "Bonnet."

The SRI and CAI question has been beaten to death so a search will give you numerous responses. Either one is good. SRI allows the turbo to spool up quicker. CAI allows it to draw cold air. I dont really see a problem with a SRI as long as you have a good Innercooler. an IC is obviously to cool hot air given off by the compressor. For performance its probally better. The answer is I dont think intake do much alone...you would need exhaust work to fully utilize the function of an intake...remember the easier your turbo/engine breaths the more power you will get. Exhaust will probally give you more hp gains then a simple intake. The intake will allow your turbo to spool faster then stock...either one CAI or SRI.

I should be getting the exhaust in about a week or so. I will put up some sound clips and give my thoughts after I install it.

I agree with spacemonkey. Since I'm upgrading my intercooler at the same time, the Perrin SRI seems like the best choice for me. If I was keep the stock intercooler to just upgrading to anotehr side mount I may have opted for a CAI.

As far as replacing the filer, it shouldn't be any trouble at all. You just need one with the same size connector.

Hey Cullen are you guys scrapping plans on building your own 3" turbo-back now that you're stocking Perrin's? I'm just trying to gauge my choices for an exhaust. Thanks!

I think the sri looks very nice, but I still don't trust foam filters. Details on what the diameter of this filter connection is for those who would like to replace it? What other filters might fit?

Whats the deal with the sway bar.. info?
If the swaybar improves rear end stiffness it would go along well with the Delsing brackets that are about to come out.

The guy ( from delsing)who was making them said he was dropping the project and would hand it over to someone else but I didnt here about anyone else picking up the project. Now there coming out soon... Did I miss something

Its not final, but I do not like this C-Ti system enough to carry it as a stocking item. Too loud and too big. The final decision will be made once the Perrin arrives.

what is the diameter of the swaybar?? and is everything included? Is it adjustable? bushings and brackets?

I want to know this as well.

No details from me yet. I'm sure Cullen could answer any of your questions. Looking from the picture you could use whatever filter you wanted. Some might not be direct replacements, but a silicon reducer could easily fix that.

Once mine arrives, and the hiboost fmic, I'll install both of them and take pictures and measurements for you. I'll probably keep the perrin filter for now since I just dropped over $1K on this stuff last week, but plan to switch out with an Apexi one when I get some more cash.

If you dont trust foam filters then it shouldnt be a problem. Obviously the SRI was designed to fit on our turbos and I know Apexi makes all diffrent kinds of sizes. But im sure Cullen will know once he gets more info.
