Performance Pulleys

is there a pully to keep the a/c from draining the life out of the engine? Is there any other option besides not turning it on?

so can we mod our cars at all then? if the oem engineers already thought of everything to squeeze out all the power, then why do we show gains when we replace this stuff? also if you used the appropriate belts with the underdrive pulley and tensioned it right, would it not lead to a oil pump failure?
well, you have to figure mazda has to sell it at an affordable price and good reliability. you're not paying the 'sports car' price so of course you're not squeezing EVERY single power available. factors like emissions, reliability and cost are just a few of the reasons. you may show gains but like the articles mentioned they might cause reliability/driveability problems. just as you can have gobs of power on a street car, if it isn't reliable then it won't last. you could probably extract power from a lighter harmonic damper but only if it's correctly dampened. i think the honda engines have an OEM N1 endurance crank damper for that same purpose/idea for their b series engines.
