Performance mods without voiding warranty

Well, I'm definitely purchasing my MSP in the next 10 days.

I've searched through the forum reading about performance mods for the MSP, but I'm unclear on what I can do without voiding the warranty.

This will be the fastest car I've owned, so I'll be very happy with the stock performance for a little while at least.

But I am interested in working on this car, I just don't want to void the warranty.

Dollar for dollar, what are the best modifications I can do to increase performance without worrying about warranty issues?

I'm thinking intake and exhaust for now. Any suggestions??

I definitely understand how many times similar questions have been asked. This whole warranty stuff is new to me, I've always had used cars w/o a warranty.

I've read through several threads about this, but I'm still confused.

Maybe a moderator should make a sticky thread that explains what you can and can't do under warranty?

well the issue's kinda iffy. it's really up to your dealership about what they will allow. my dealership told me this. basic mods like a boost gauge, turbo timer, exhaust, dp, and intake won't void the warranty. but when you start having to cut stuff, that's where you run into problems. things like a mbc, replacing the intercooler piping, and other such things will void my warranty. check with your dealership. they're all different.

In my opinion the dealership is better off not knowing what you do to your car....who knows what they'll be like down the road.
