People Run, I need some advice.

for food the night before CARB LOAD eat alot of food with carb's cuz your body turns them into sugar and it helps a bit, Stretch good and warm up good to get blood flowing, get a good song with a fast beat to keep a good steady pace and dont run by yourself run with somebody that is at your same speed or slightly faster. Take this from me...I'm a runner.

Ok, this saturday I will be taking a Police physical fitness test. (five-0)

It consists of:
Sit and Reach______________16"
One Minute Sit-up___________37
Maximum Bench press Ratio___98%
1.5 mile run________________13min 46sec

So far I've reached all of my goals easily but the only one i'm struggling with is the 1.5 mile run. I reached my goal yeaterday easily with 12:26 :), but today under different condions I went over my time limit :( I know I have what it takes.

Do you guys have any advice for me? What are things I should do the night before? What and how much should I eat/drink(the night before and morning of)? Any strategies?
I am not nor have ever been a runner so my knowledge is very minimal. Thanks for your help guys.

*** any advice on the other activies are welcome.
If a fatass like me can pass a firefighters physical than you can pass the five-o test. (wink)

For the run, pretend you are running after a crook that just whacked you accross the face. That should motivate you.

Crystal meth....makes you run fast. Plus you'll be surrounded by cops, you'll run even faster.

he already got hired as a cop. thanks for playing! and i was thinking about the nypd, but they're a joke. they get paid like 30,000

when i was goin through it - it was $36K..they dropped it down to $30 like 6 months after.

i've never seen anyone pulled over in the city, mainly manhattan, maybe that has something to do with it. they all just hang out at the tunnels or tell me to move if i'm standing somewhere waiting for food, especially at like, mcdougal street, or 6th and 53rd

they hold many hats...being a city as large as NYC, pulling people over is not a priority..

yea of course. driving in the city is the best too. it's like a video game, just zip through all the cars. and it feels fast too, but you're going like 40 mph at most. and usually anyone driving there knwos how to drive, and no matter what you do, they give way, and half of them dont even pay attention. it's weird. take any cabby out of the city and put him on the new jersey turnpike, and they seem clueless. that's why i usually throw bricks at anyone with an NY license plate around here.

i will never drive in the city again! i take the subway in or the metro north if i have to.

yeah 30K is considered poverty line...plus, they have to pay for their own uniforms...but OT is highly likely!
