In the future, all applications will be written to make use of multiple processors. But for the moment dual core may not pose an advantage and instead may hinder the performance of your computer.

Depending on what your using the computer for,
Dual core most likely uses more electrcity than your regular P4 (depends on which models your compare). If you can justify the price increase in getting dual core and your electrcity bill, then go ahead.
edit: that sounds like a good deal. you might want to check out what kind of motherboard that comes with. Seems a bit cheap. Any dvd/dvd burner? Card readers? built in audio?
