Anybody install any pedals on their car that weren't clipped on in the back? I just received my Sparco Racer pedals and you have to mount them by drilling. I tried to drill, but the piece was just too thick to penetrate. Any help is appreciated as this is really pissing me off.

working on cars a whole lot, and goinh through a lot of tools while doing, I've learned, a sharp drill bit is 800% better than a dull one. Buy a new drill bit son. =)

Thanks alot. Yeah the bit I was using was not very sharp at all. I figured it would do the job, but I was wrong. I am also having a problem with the gas pedal. I was able to drill through the plastic but I couldn't get it bolted on because of some parts in the way.

yes i have installed a set of pedals on a P5 and i had to use a nice new sharp ass drill bit and it was easy as cake with no problems.

Also, another tip is to start with a bit that's really small, then work your way up to the gauge you need. That's what I did, and it seemed to work fine. :)

or you can get the bits with a starter point. i cant remember the company or what its made of but its gold colored, with a little smaller tip to start the whole. they are more expensive than a normal bit, but ive drilled about... 100-200 holes in 16 ga steel and lots of other random crap without it dulling.
