Parents forcing me to strip my car...

~sniff~My parents are making me take all the aftermarket stuff off my car before I leave for college...and now my Mom will be driving it while I'm away! God, it's gonna be so rough living without the MP5 while away at school...I don't know if I can make it. No late night drives, my hair blowing in the breeze, listening to the growling intake and throaty exhaust note as I rocket through turns along back roads...it's all so depressing. Just thought I would vent here, even though my trivial pursuits are of no real importance to the forum. Oh well.:( :'(

ok, two questions:

-who bought the car?
-who bought all the stuff for the car?

if you bought the car and you bought all the stuff for the car, then dammit, it's your car...you should do whatever you want with it.

if your parents bought the car and you bought all the aftermarket stuff...then sorry buddy, it's their car, not yours.

no offense to mp5driva but it sounds like he got it when he was under 18 which means his parents would have HAD to have bought it for him since its illegal for a minor to be on a car loan.

...in that case, you're SOL. go to school, learn to make your own money, buy your own car...that way, you can do whatever you want with it.

Way to be an ass.

Sorry to hear about the parting. I don't know what I'd do if I had to give up my MSP; problems and all. You are going to keep everything, aren't you? It'd REALLY be bad if you had to sell it all. :(

Where are you going to school? Does the school allow freshman parking?

I wasn't allowed to park my freshman year, but I got a job that required me to have a car. So, the school gave me a parking permit.

also, when you buy the new car, mod the hell out of it and smoke your mom in the non modded P5.:D

Yeah, the school does allow freshmen to have a car, it's just that my parents think it best for an avid MP5 enthusiast such as myself to be carless for the first semester, maybe even the first year(gasp). I'm going to Emory and Henry College, up in Bristol(Abbington) Virginia.

Oh, and yeah, my parents did buy the car, since I was underage at the time, but not by much. Currently I pay them for insurance, and when the timing is right, I will buy the car from them for hopefully a much lower price than they paid:D ;) . All the aftermarket parts were bought by me, it's just that the thought of her sitting on Motegi rims with nothing done on the inside really makes her a ricer, and not to mention my MOM will be driving her while I'm away.

Hey and GerardPro5...sounds like you think I'm whining or something; I just needed a place to vent to. Sorry if my story bothered you, don't read it.

Well I'm sure your mother doesnt want to drive around in a car with a bunch of aftermarket parts on it. Plus if I bought a car for my son i'd be pretty pissed if her started messing with it and adding a bunch of parts to it.

haha, my parents are different; I've been into cars long since before I got the P5, so I guess they figured it would happen no matter what car I had. My dad had a '93 FD twin turbo that he played with, and I kinda got hooked by that car. Actually, my parents have been very supportive of my modding my car, as long as I can do so and keep the warranty. I haven't done much, just the basics(intake, exhaust, etc.), so it really hasn't been a problem. I'm really worried about my mom running my wheels through a car wash, against a curb accidentally, etc...I would be soooo mad.

dude theres no way i'd ever trust anybody to drive my baby if i was away. not even my parents.

although its different for me because i paid for mine:p

I can relate, my dad owned his own business and I worked for him. He would have boring work trucks. Well I couldn't and can't stand driving stock vehicles.

So I would modd my work truck. Then he would trade it in for a new truck & I would start all over.

I always did have the best looking truck in the fleet and got more sales. So I guess my labor paid for itself.

Any way I'm all grow'd up now and buying & moding my own vehicles.

Don't worry about your baby unless you have a Mom like mine.
She blew up the engine in my Dad's Corvette because she didn't know what that red light on the dash meant. (blonde)

Oil is a needed fluid in a vehicle.

Any way go to school, learn a lot and party on the side.
There will always be cool cars available.

Good luck.

Bill

thanks everybody, I appreciate your sympathy and support. Even if I'm without my baby at school, I will still be a frequent visitor on this forum, so have no fear - I'll always be here. As for Rob, that alone might scare him...lol, just kidding.

hey, at least you get to keep your car. I have to let my baby go. I am going away to school in SF, and there is no parking at all for me at the place I am staying. My parents can't afford to take on my car payment, and I wouldn't want them to either. Moving to another city, I will be leaving my job as well, so I don't know where extra income will come from to pay for the car and insurance, let alone have her just sit in the garage. Thats money that could go to me eating! ^__^ so I have to sell her. I just keep telling myself, once I get out of school, I can buy a mercedes to make up for my loss. heh

dude now thats depressing...I am sooo sorry man, it makes me feel stupid as my situation is pretty good by comparison.
