Painting the hood.

Looks good man. I'm doing the same but with black vinyle. Takes balls to to paint the bump, haha. I think it might look even better if the grille up to was painted too.

If what you are saying is that the piece above the honeycomb needs to be painted to match, I agree.

This is one of those mods that I wouldn`t personally do, but I can see why someone else would like it. It looks sharp, but it just isn`t my style.

So i finally did it using vinyl and i must say it came out bad. I am going to have to take it off. First time using vinyl or anything like it and the curves on the lower bumper made it impossible for me to get it to lay without having any bubbles in it. Then had to do other side and when the 2 met in the middle had a little red showing so had to cut a 3rd small piece that just ****** it up even more. If I want to do this which i do gonna have to get it prof done with vinyl or paint it but don't really want to paint it. Maybe i just suck at doing it, hoping to see others who are using vinyl as well. Well here are some pics.

Hmmm...I don't see anything wrong with it. Actually looks pretty damn good for vinyl. Can't expect too much from a paint sub. Just needs a front lip and top grille (blacked) to match.

Thanks for the replies guys, I just went with doing the bottom part of the bumper. I was iffy on the fin thing in the middle so I didn't do it yet, maybe in a few days but I love the end result.
I used the Rust-oleum Camuflage paint, because it was Flat black and meant to be used on plastic and such.

Here's a few pics let me know what you think.

I love how it turned out, I also have the Home Depot lip installed which I did few days ago, love that look as well.

that looks sick, good job, but eya id rip the HD lip off and do the grill, again good job kinda makes me upset that i got black lol

Ok so i pulled off the first one but redid and must say 2nd time came out 100 times better. There's still like bubbles on top maybe they will go away in time but think its bc how the vinyl is curved it bunches up a little. will get pic up soon. and doing the grill would be impossible for me since the lower bumper was hard enough and prob like 10 times hardier to do the grill.

Looks great, man. Personally, I would like it with a glossy look, but the flat black looks better than I would've thought.

I've been thinking about doing this forever because my old Eclipse had a similar scheme:

Here are the final pics. 2nd time came out 100 times better. Almost all the bubbles and creases went away, I am very happy how it came out. Just wish i could of made the center little better where the 2 vinyl meets but i can deal with it.

Shiroi_ms3, if u used automotoive painters tape u wouldve got cleaner lines..instead of using duck tape..but i like it..nice job..

I am most certainly doing this as soon as my car comes back from the shop. I thinks it will look sick on my MGM. I will be doing the grill too.

looks real good.. your not doing the badge or even the whole grill in black?.. feel like that would make it 10x's better

Nope no primer. i just used the flat black camo spray paint that adheres to plastic. I wiped down the surface with a non abrasive alcohol wipe, put on three thin coats of black, let that dry, and then followed it up with 2 thin coats of an acryilic clear coat to add protection and shine. thats it!
