Painting the hood.

i wouldnt paint it, i would just do a vinyl overlay
i did it to my roof and it looks sick plus its reverable it u dont like it, and its pretty tough and wont chip like paint

I cleaned with some dish soap to get the grease out then sanded a little bit, washed ti again to get any dust off then taped off and then just laid down few coats of paint I think I did 4 or 5 can't remember.

yeah vinyl would have been a good idea, I wasn't sure where to get it but I am super happy with the results.

it was 52 bucks for the sheet that fit my roof and thats shipped so it would be pretty cheap for a little piece to do the lower grill

OK well I was about to buy the vinyl from don when he gave my 2 choices glossy or matte. I was thinking going matte to match it to the mesh and the mustache. thoughts?

matte is going to look better, I painted the bumper with a flat black paint to match the plastic parts right there.
as soon as you get it done, post pics.

I washed it twice so far, paint is holding up pretty good, I just don't wax/claybar the area. But aside from that it holds up well. Keeping it's matte color as well.

Looks good man. I'm doing the same but with black vinyle. Takes balls to to paint the bump, haha. I think it might look even better if the grille up to was painted too.
