Painting Question

Lets say I get a front lip for my protege and it's white, is it hard to paint them yourself or should I just let the professionals do it?

depends, the equipment will be pretty expensive! if u plan on painting more stuff then go for it but if not it would be cheaper to just let them do it! paint shops really dont make much of a profit as many people think! to do it urself u would need sealer(with activator), paint, reducer, paint cups, stir stix(usually free with paint products) urethane clear coat(with activator), paint gun, air hose, air compressor(u will need a large capacity tank as it takes alota air to paint), and laquer thinner. if u had to buy all this it would cost way more then just to let them do it!

I do this as a hobby. The first time you try this it will be frustrating as hell. Trust me. Spraying is not that hard...getting even coats and no runs takes a little time. The prep work it the worst. If you need any pointers or questions just ask. But I agree if you do not find a intrest and do not plan on doing this again it will not be worth it. You will have over a grand invested into that one lip just in supplys. But on the flip side I enjoy it (all but sanding and tapping) but it is a handy trait to have?

Not trying to scare you away. Trust me it can be fun and rewarding. Just if you would like a new hobby.(lol2)
