I am getting some lightly used WRX side skirts and an after market front lip spoiler.

I want to paint them both a flat black and reverse out some red graphics (names of products I have in my car along the side skirts).

I have never painted fiberglass/plastic, would I prep it the same way that I would prep normal steel body panels?

Sand with a light grain sandpaper (wet?) then prime and sand then paint?

maybe you should clearcoat it afterwards?

Yea, I was planning on it.......well, actually do you think that flat black would look good with clearcoat?

Wouldn't adding the clearcoat on flat black turn it into glossy black?

Oh hey you have the 2.5rs...so wrx body parts can be swapped? How about after market engine mods?

It shouldn't. The clear should just protect the paint.

For fiberglass or ay flexible material, you would prep roughly the same way as metal, except you would have to use a flex agent in your paint and prime. For my P5 bumper, i sanded down with 400grit, primed with primer for flexible body parts, sanded again with 600 or 800 can't rememer, sprayed base coat, they clear coat.
