Painted Altezzas; Good idea?

Hey guys.

I was looking for a change in my tail lights, but I feel that Altezzas are played out. I saw a pic of a set of APC's on a toilet blue P5 here once. They were gray & looked eaily paintable to match the colour of the car, However, I've look for these with no luck. I think that it's either not released or not in Canada yet.

However, this brought another idea to mind. Is there a way to pop open the altezzas & paint the chrome part of the lens to match the colour of the car? My fear is that you would be able to see where you glued the thing back together due to the clear plastic all around.

What are you thoughts, guys?

You could, but I would think they would be more prone to leaking than they already are.

i dont think those look too bad... on a darker car altezza look alright

That is a very false statement. If you take apart the altezza's and glue them back together correctly they will not leak or fog up like they all do. APC quality is garbage, but everyone i know that has them has reglued them themselves and have not had a problem with the fogging or water getting inside, and if you didn't already know there is not 1 set of APC's that will not eventually fog or have the red part pop out (usually if you have a system).
