I know everybody has these problems, but i just had my hood repainted and i was passing a street sweeper today and sure enough, huge-ass paint chip from a rock that hit the hood... i also have a bunch of scratches from last years hurricaine blowing shingles across my roof onto the car...

does anybody have some good products that hide these kinds of scratches or know where i can get cheap but quality touch-up paint?

i know it seems like a stupid question but it really pissed me off that i just spent $500 getting the hood repainted and now it looks horrible all over again, so any help u guys can give me would def help me out....

yeah i know it happens but i dont have the money to have the hood repainted every time i get someone blows a bunch of rocks at me, so i was hopin somebody might have something that hides it a bit at least (kinda like those miracle wax comercials you see on tv--i was told those things dont work at all)

well the chip is like square in the middle of the hood so neither of them would work... plus the bras look horrible i think

clear bra works very well for the front end of your car, but there's not much you can do for the rest of it...i've never heard of miracle wax...there's a lot of things you can do if you use your imagination...they might not look very good, but neither do rock chips...

yeah thats true, i guess i cant win either way...im still hopin that someone has a cheaper/less permanently making my car ugly solution

How about a CF hood and leaving it unpainted? That should hide it well.

yeah that was the orginal plan before i repainted....but if u ask anyone on here with a 99 or 00 protege its next to impossible to find an OEM carbon hood...ive seen a bunch of group buys on this forum and other forums come and go with not nearly enough intrest for anybody to care (ask MIAprotege ive seen his name on almost all the GBs ha)

as for suing the city, i probably shouldve, but since i was late for work, no proof means no money for me haha

My wifes P5 (white) looked horrible with scratches and stuff. I used a turtle wax compound paste, has mild abbrasives in it.

Took the scratches off very easily, no for chips it wont do a thing of course.

It was cheap about $3-$4 bucks.....

I would highly recommend..........

thanks man, thats exactly what i was lookin for... the guy at the hardware store told me that paste wouldnt do a damn thing, if u say it works, ill give it a try tho, thanks...

also, whats with the huge disclaimer in ur sig?

nope, not yet, I need to get the nose of my repainted 1st, my buddy just had it done to his brand spanking new z350 and it looks pretty darn sweet. No, its not like a windscreen. Its like saran(sp?) wrap heat gunned on to the nose of your car.

The disclaimer in my sig is nothing special, I copied it from someone else.

Just saying that anything i say on here is BS and can not be used by Mazda to void a warranty claim or anything.

If you buy the Turtle Wax paste make sure you get the right one I will post tonight when I get home the exact one I have, also a good idea to wax the car after you use it.

alrite cool, thanks jeremy... i usually wax my car like once a month, so ill wait to hear from you what the stuff really is before i do it again...

Hey jbiird317 sorry i have not posted it, been running around a little bit because of hurrican dennis or whatever.....

I will post the name when i get to my mom's.....

Ok it is TurtleWax Polishing Compund and scratch remover the label is green.
On the back it under note it will say contains mild abrasives, I would not get the one with strong abrasives as it might strip paint.

I used a damp applicator pad to put it on and then a terry rag to take off.

well i used paint scratch!!

well i hide alot of scratch on my car and i used the paint from pain scratch.com and it worked grear u don't see the diference i love it !!!
