Paint chipping.

I just got back from washing my car for the first time in a month and after I rinsed off the layer of dirt, I noticed that there were tons of little chips in the paint. I think its gotta be from gravel on the roads but I'm not sure. Has anyone seen this on their own cars? (dunno)

I'm just gonna get some touchup paint when it gets warmer but its annoying. (pissed)

Mazda paint unfortunately is very thin. Before I had the car repainted my hood was covered in chips.

i can tell u how much it costs... sgryzko...here in edmonton there are a couple of places that charge about 250$-300$ its expensive... a garage door hit my hood and they, the mechanic shop (who are paying for the dent on my hood) told me it was about that price!

Wow that is expensive. If I were to spend that kind of money I would spend the extra money to get a custom paint job.
I'll just stick with the touchup paint for now.

ya thats what i would do till u can afford it.... but i heard touchup eventually flakes off too

It would have been a smart thing to do some heavy aftermarket clearcoating on the front bumper and the hood right after you take delivery. Those mark ass biznitches at mazda cheaped out on the paint.

ya I got 23.000 mi and a ton of chips too where i live i utah everyone drives a truck or suv them bastards never have mud flaps either even though its a law here cops dont care there ignorant.

Im saving up for my magnetic bra there tight if you saw one you would want one water and dirt cant get under them.way better than them cloth viynl whatever s***ts.

Dude, I have to say that has happened to every car I have ever owned.

wow, I should be glad that I got a paint protection clear coat on my paint within the first week. Now this place recommands me to go back and get it redone each year, is it worth $50 each year?

How long have you had your car. I personally wouldnt care for something like that with my stock paint job but if you want to keep your car looking nice it might be worth it.
Do they repaint it every year or what? If its just for the clear coat might not be worth it if it digs into the paint and metal like mine did.

Although I already have 2 gashes taken out of my custom job :( guess thats what I get for having her as a daily driver.

I had my since the beginning of this year and I dunno if they repaint it or not. I would have to go ask.

yeah I would find out all I could about what you purchased and then see if you think its worth it or not. Thats $50 you could save to spend on other parts :)
