Pac Aai-maz

I just placed an order for a PAC AAI-MAZ from Logjam Electronics (not linked since the website isn't a vendor here). I did a search, but it doesn't seem like any posts have been made here on it. Has anybody else tried it?

Well, I installed the PAC AAI-MAZ last night. It connects through the CD changer port, so the stereo treats the aux port like a CD changer. It doesn't provide any sort of controls that I noticed when using my MP3 player or Garmin Nuvi as the source. It's a simple upgrade if all you want is an aux port.

This morning I did a little more searching and found an even cheaper alternative from GROM Audio. I found a vendor on Google shopping and bought one for about $30 less than the PAC AAI-MAZ. GROM Audio also has iPod interfaces cheaper than I've seen elsewhere. I'll update this thread after I install the GROM Audio aux port into my wife's 6 wagon.

You can post a link to that, it's not a Mazda vendor. Interested in more details, and I can add it to the master iPod/aux list.

Here is the link for Logjam Electronics.

Here you can find the Mazda specific products for GROM Audio.

The funny part is how my wife looked thoroughly confused when I told her about getting the aux port. She couldn't get it straight about what it would do. Once I installed the PAC and got it operating, I had her come outside to see it working. That's when she understood that there would not be any more searching for an empty FM frequency to use the Nuvi with the radio. At that point, there was no resistance about buying another.

By the way, didn't I see another thread about someone asking about charging an iPod or iPhone with the car interface? I think the GROM Audio iPod adapter allows that.
