Pablo's 2004 MSM Build

Since its really nice out, I took the day off to work on the car. Installed the injectors and hooked up the Hydra, fired right up! Let it warm up and took it for a drive. City driving is smoother, as well as highway. Power delivery is more consistent and smooth, didn't hit the new 7,200 RPM rev limiter but she kept climbing. Felt a bit more pull on the downshift, but not that much.

I sent a datalog to FM, idle speed was a bit high even though the map shows a lower value. Maybe they'll make some tweaks.

Oh, I also cleaned the throttle body and mani a bit.

Hydra does little for idle speed control from what I remember. Most of it is the IACV on the intake manifold.

Sooooooo I realized that I had the winter setting (lower) on the tru-boost, that's why the car didn't really feel faster. Changed back to normal and adjusted a bit, she's definitively faster now (lol2) (shady)

Nice job on the new mods. However, I don't like this new avatar. It's scary...

+1 to both parts of this post.

That's also a risky place to put nuts/bolts on your car. Evan dropped stuff down the drain thing on my Miata and it's probably still down there.

That's also a risky place to put nuts/bolts on your car. Evan dropped a single bolt down the drain thing on my Miata and it's probably still down there.

You make it sound like I was just dropping all sorts of nuts, bolts, wrenches, small children down there. But yeah, if you drop anything down there you'll need to remove the fenders to inspect your frog arms. (sorry, Will...)

It was chaos. Nuts/bolts/children/animals/wrenches/bits/bobs/widgets were flying everywhere.

But yeah, it's OK. I'm sure it worked itself out! :) Maybe one of these days Pablo can help me take the fender off since he is experienced at that. ;)

lol!

But Peaches will say "Sure, I'll help you remove a fender to remove that plastic piece Ladyhands dropped.". Then he'll show up with a ton of parts he wants to install in your garage. ;)
(juuust kidding, boo)

Haha!

Luckily I have plenty of barn space to get him out of my garage in that situation.

Hey, the only things I have left is to actually put the wideband sensor on (I need a lift for that), a catback and the rear end (which will be done by a shop).

Kept working on it, tucked away all the wiring that was exposed and installed the AEM wideband gauge, just have to hook up the sensor. Couldn't do it with just a jack and stands, so I'll have to ask Marc later.

And another shot of the seat, put the top down when I went for a drive.
