yeah, early june......

trouble! i am going to have to get a bigger car/SUV to carry all the stuff. The P5 and the Jetta are small!

Think the P5 will have to go (shrug) ; the Jetta has well under 10K still.

I never understood why people have kids and then think they need an SUV -Minivan to 'carry all the stuff '. A baby weighs about 10 lbs....what else is there?
My parents had two kids and drove a two door datsun 280 with no problems. Maybe it's me...i just don't understand (shrug)

She'll be 4 this March and about 57,000 miles on her...I don't think I'll ever get rid of her...

I'm drivng a 1989 suburban right now. When I get the P5 back it'll feel like the newest, fastest thing :D

hmm the 700-lb stroller and the case of diapers? (hah)

as far as the issue being discussed... I have had my car for 3 years 6 months, and still love driving it... can't wait for June of 07 though, when I make my last payment on it

after that, I'm going as long as I can without making a car payment :)

(my bills own me)

with one kid you'll be fine....i drove datsun b 210 with one kit for rwo years, no problem...second kid, got the old station wagon....oh ya!!

My P5 is my business car. I bought it used in June '04. Financed it for 5 years so my payments would be super low ($130/mo) if the business hit hard times. It hasn't and I've paid $300/mo since I got it. Next month (beginning of new tax year) I'll make one lump sum payment and be done paying on her. Can't wait.

I'm at 38K miles and I'll keep it until it rattles apart (I just keep turning up the radio).

4yrs and some odd months...85K miles...I feel very lucky to have a car like this to see me through college...and I plan on keeping her as long as possible afterwards (thumb)

Yes, definatly keeper. It's my first car, but when I was looking for a car I wanted something that would last me along time and I think so far I am successful. Buying and selling cars like they were shoes just seems silly to me, but that's america for you.

3 years and 9 months, or 2 years and 1 month depending on how you look at it. Traded my first brand new auto tragic 02 P5 in on an lease-back stick 02 P5, and couldn't be happier. I don't think I'll ever get rid of the beast, though I am looking forward to the last payment on her.

A former friend of mine traded in his P5 on an STi, and while he loved the extra power, he made the comment that he'd never had as much fun driving a car as in the P5. While I think we're all in agreement that extra power would be nice, I think his comment gets to the core of what most of us love about our car - it's a car that was made to be driven. :)

Guess you never went on a trip when you were younger. My 5 is loaded to the hilt going on a trip. Roof box, trunk, back seats. 2 kids. That's for a week vacation. I bought a 89 Country Squire for trips. ( I can't stand SUV/minivans) Even that gets a bit full on a long trip. Gotta remember how huge and bulky child seats are now-they take up most of the back seats. To a certain degree the older the kids get the less stuff you need to haul around. I'll still have to get a roof box for the squire. Pretty sad really.

As for the cars' age. My 03.5 is not even 2.5 years old, has had alot of problems, parts replaced, and there is a good amount of wear on everything. The drivers seat is shot. The front suspension is worn out. Tie rod or ball joint is about falling out. It's got 91K on it. Still fun, but I'm getting fed up with the issues it has.

I have an '02 with 24,ooo miles on it. Don't feel like it's old at all! It still has the new car smell...
Geez, the car it replaced was a '92 Sentra with 135,ooo on it! I guess it's all relative.

2 years and 8 months with 76,000 miles, wife does about 30,000 a year on the P5. As for hauling kids and their stuff, the P5 will do it when they are slightly older but when they are both young you really have to cram it full of stuff for a trip, which is why we have the Izusu Rodeo, cheap, good warranty and with a 2.2l eninge and stick decent mileage for an SUV at 20 mpg. Most important is that it has the room for a trip or for a full load of supplies from Lowes, I can fit a 5 foot bath tub in the back with the seats down and a load of drywall on the roof. Prior to that I had a 94 MX-6 LS for eight years, and since I paid cash I had no car payments for 8 years = lots of toys for the car.

We're planning on keeping ours for as long as possible, we love itthat much

Hell, I bought a new car as a daily driver just so that we don't rack up miles on our P5

This is an illness, I know (glare)

hahahaha......off topic but your avatar is a camel toe....genious!

oh yeah, had mine for 2 years now...i'll drive her 'till she's dead

3years is nothing. i recently bought my P5 so i could become a bit more "practical". i sold my 1990 CRX (15 years old) which was my pride and joy for many many years.
