P5 vs. Work Van

I love my P5, but I got a laugh today when a 3/4 ton work van easily blew me away in a stoplight dragrace. I don't think he even knew I was there but I was banging gears and revving my little P5 hard as he gradually pulled away. (burnout) God, these things are slow.

Yes, they are slow. I got killed by a guy in a Dodge pickup towing a small trailer. I yelled "that thing got a Hemi?" out the window at him and he laughed pretty hard.

I love those Hemi ads! I crack up every time and my wife looks at me like I'm nuts. We P5 folks have to be humble about our drag racing capabilities don't we? Oh well, lots of other good things about the cars.

Nothing against mine or anybody's P5 or anything, but I drive an F-350 Mason Dump with the 6.8 V10 and it hauls ass. I could easily smoke most of the cars cars on the road. With like 350 h.p and 450 lb/ft of torque, those babies can move.

Yeah I agree. I'm wondering if they have any more of them in the works, but I don't know how they can take the joke any farther.

what rpm's do you shift

I can beat civic si(new ones)
neon R/T, focus SVT, normal Civics.

First gear never redline shift at 5400 to 5700 then bang your gears to redline. I have intake, reflashed computer to MP3 Specs. 10ohm to trick the computer to say I am running cold air. Oh and 5w 30 oil helps. Stock I ran 16.8 at 82 MPH now I run 16.2 @ 85 MPH. I know focus SVT runs 15.8 and civic si is the same but street racing is different. SHHHHHH I know street racing is bad so do not flame me.

I wish my work Van could accelerate as fast as my Protege, then maybe I wouldn't be stuck behind Bozos doing 40 in a 60 zone. But alas it's an aaarrgghh - ford econoline. Now THAT is a POS!
