P5 Rear Wiper... Who actually uses it?

I for one do not. The rear wiper is the worst dust/grit collector and all it does when you turn it on is scrape across the glass and deposit all the crap on the other side! My rear glass is permanently etched from this. I just took the wiper off and put a wire cap over the spline bolt... :)
Anyone actually done a shaved rear wiper?

it seems quite useless on a hatch of your angle, I know I need mine in the rain since my hatch is at about a 38 degree angle and the wiper sits verticle to the hatch. MAybe you could rig it to come down from the up position instead so it won't carry dust or etch the glass.

I was actually planning on taking my P5 to a body shop this weekend to get a quote on getting all my dings and dents fixed and having the car repainted compleatly. While I was there I was actually thinking about getting a quote on shaving the hatch of all the badges and the wiper. If you keep it rainexed I think it would be just fine. Good to hear someone else asking what I was thinking.

Yeah, Rain-X is definitely a must in this neck of the woods. I use it with a passion! Hell, now I'm thinking of shaving my front wipers too! j/k

I removed mine and the motor :D There's just a sticker in it's place :P yes, ghetto.

Rain-X is incredible! My '93 S-10 (with '94 LT-1 transplant :D ) rolled with no wipers for three years. You just have to re-apply every couple months. Back on track - With limo tint out back, the rear wiper got used a few times yesterday in the rain for backing up.

I use mine all the damn time. It gets alot of use actually. even if the rear window is dusty i use it.

MSpeedP5... being from the island I would have thought you would use it a lot. Do you not do many road trips / highway driving? Cause I use mine all the time!

Hey, I actually went to a shop a few days ago and they quoted me $300 for just the rear badges, but they wanted to use welding. I am gunna go look for a better price, my guess is around $200, but just curious what kinda prices your finding.

106,000+ kms of all of the above. I just lay on the rain-x and wash regularly... :)

I don't use mine for this exact reason. It's only been turned on once since I bought the car, and that was by accident.
