P5 Performance chip ??

:
02' MP5/07' M6
i was told that there is a ECU performance chip for the P5 2.0 engine. i would like to know if anyone has one and if it's worth doing and where they can be purchased, i've looked all over the net and no luck only universal programming machines that cost around 800.00 USD. and ebay has some that look like there bull s***, and they are because a friend of mine purchased one and brought it to a performance auto shop to get it installed and the guy started laughing, it was a little black box about 2.5 inches in width and height, and it has four short wire coming out of it.

anyways if anyone can shed some light that would be great.

Nope, there isn't anything. Only thing that can help would be an Mp3 ECU.

Peace

someone on here a while back bought a redline performance chip i think it was called, and that is a waste of money, and it will actually be worse for your car even though it claims for 10-whatever hp gain.

Ya that's the closest thing. It'll change the timing a little bit and if you remove VTCS you'll supposedly get 10hp on premium gas.

I bought one of those redline power chips & it did nothing. removing it this weekend & throwing it in the garbage. don't waist your money

Where could I pick up an MP3 ECU and about how much will it cost?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but they only work effectively on manuals because there were no MP3 autos. Are you auto or 5-speed?

When i went to a dealership the sales person told me there were chips available for the car, for some reason he added that there from California.

thanks for your responses
