Owners or potential owners: If you have to pick ONE thing you don't like about the 3.

i test drove the 5speed 2.3L sedan...
I personally found it SLOW. The pick up not much faster than my 2.0L 91 protege LX (auto) 125HP. It does look good though ( The sport , sedan's rear is fugugly to me). Im trying to get the 6 at the moment

i love everything about it, especially the cool blue interior light. If I were to pick one thing, it would be the antenna. Not that I don't like the look or where it is placed, but everytime I leave my car, I worry that someone's gonna unscrew it and take it, because we all know that it happens all the time.

It's a minor complaint but I really, really wish it had a 12V accessory outlet that worked with the key off.

I plan on re-wiring mine but it's a pain in the ass that I would rather not have to go through. (shrug)

Auto-HVAC, heated mirrors and visor lights would be nice, too, but I'm not that concerned about it.

Variable-duration intermittant wipers would be nice, too. I mean, I had that on a 1992 Plymouth Voyager, for cryin' out loud.

too bad for the americans. the variable wipers are available on canadian cars, plus an automatic option as well that works with the rain sensor.

12V Outlet?

If I could Pick?

Minor very Minor.....

1st, I would compare it to Toyota Matrix or Vibe..(same car).. and add the extra Outlet near the center console.

2nd, visor lights..

3rd, Option for 2 rear subs...

4th, Door locks position is a bit awkward.
- Should be place on door rest..

5th, Bulb accessable lights under dash at feet, (touch of blues as in instrument panel)

6th, always place compartment in dash, (for a dealer) never know when someone will want to come back and add the Navigation system...
-Instead I'm told by sercie they would have to replace entire dash for the change....

Finally, have the accessories available at time of release of vehicle... take a look at the market and get them out so people don't wait and spen more money...

Overall, a kick @r$$ little ride.. (Lava Orange with all the trimmings cept leather and navi system)

My best car ever...!

Do you have the AT Sport Auto ZippityZoomZoom? A mazda salesperson informed me that the 2.3 with AT sport has a 5 speed auto trans. Can anyone confirm this?

It doesn't have one. That's kinda my point. There's only the cigarette lighter and that only works with key on.

Everything else on the car is nearly perfect. Unlike some other people in this thread I love Mazda for not putting on those damn auto-locking door locks when you start moving or the day-time running lights. Those are both "features" I hate - especially the auto door lock - ughh, who wants to be locked inside the car?!

It's a great car. Arguably the best "econobox" money can buy.
In canada its illegal to not have daytime running lights.except older model cars......I think the US i trying to pass the same law.......and if you live in the hood the auto locks keep the car jackers away

Mazda 3

Hello!

I am new here from Canada. Just got a Brand-New Mazda 3 Sport GT and its great!

I have not found any thing I dont like about the car. Not one thing to be honest. Now some people say theirs dont come with heated mirrors and auto lights. Well myn does. I have the GT with the: Power package
Convinience Package
GFX package

It also have leather seats which I highly recommend getting if you want to really finish the car off. So no problems so far. Its very comfy, has great power, great visability and great everything else (dance)

See ya later

Does anyone know?

On my driver side, at the top portion of the storage been is what appears to resemble a 12v connector. Now, if you take a look at the Mazda3 site and print our the specs you will find that it defines a 12V and then mentions also a cigaret lighter.... Does anyone know?

I got one too!

Hi there,
I just took possession of my 2004 Mazda3 Sport GT, Titanium colour with all the packages including leather, moonroof and am bowled over. The compliments from people of all ages are just a 'rollin in. The car just looks soooo good!
I'm not so sure I will get the extended warantee though. Seems a bit much to give over $1,500.00 for something that won't come effective for three years.
Congratulations!

I see what you're talking about in the specs but I have no idea what you're talking about in the vehicle. Can you take a picture?

Also, there's nothing in the owner's manual about another outlet.

I am new to these boards. I just bought a 2004 M3 GT Leather Automatic Sedan. I pick it up in a week.

The only things i wish it had, is climate control, better stereo. I am already thinking of getting a custom job done on the dash, and put in XM Satallite.

Here is what i paid. $25000 (Ford X-Plan) this includes the GT with GFX package. Sunset Orange Mica, Power sunroof, raised spoiler, tinted windows.

I also added on a few options. Threw in heated front leather seats. 4way protection, hood deflector, sunroof deflector, and the 7 year warrenty.

Total after taxes came to $31000 approx.

I also wanted the auto dimming mirror /w compass and homelink. but they told me that mazda will not allow that to be put in with the automatic wipers.

I know theres a few more things i added in as well. but i can not think of them at this time.
