over boosting

am i right in assuming that this is because the stock WGA is bad and i should buy a better one?
everything was fine now all of a sudden i can boost to 15 psi (thankfully i have such a bad rich tune my afr;s were not even that bad lol) and then hit fuel cut every time, i know the unichip EBC spikes but so far it hasnt been like that, could it be the bad ebc?

sorry turbo noob, any response will be appreciated.
boost controller works fine, -21 at idle, and is only 3 months and 10k old.

yup its your WGA... and yed the stocl WGA is bad. Thats happened to me when mine broke. I just cahnged it with a replacement or you can change it with a ATP one or just go with a forge WGA your choice. it means that your AWG will go out on you anytime soon

Sorry i just needed info fast as i wanted to order it today. I ended up ordering a stock relacement from protege garage. But stil wondering what awg is and should i be worried?

He meant WGA. Typo. And I hope you bought the ATP wastegate actuator as it's only like $60.

i jsut got the one from protege garage. not sure if its atp but i think its the stock one/similar.

it was the atp one, and my car is running good at stock boost but im still overboosting when i set my unichip EBC to high boost, so i assume that its the bad ebc. any ideas?

do you know what the high boost setting is for the Unichip. When you say overboosting, you mean over the stock level or like 20psi? You would think that the High boost setting is what is causing the "overboost". Not being an ass but maybe give us some more details?

read up top. high boost setting on the unichip ebc is 10psi with 13psi spike but my car will boost to like 15-16 and hold it, any higher and it cuts fuel. i jsut mean on the stock setting its fine, when i turn it up it overboosts and i just replaced the WGA. (i have a joep MBC in the mail, so ill try that and see if it makes a difference when it comes)

so the problem was the unichip EBC. its a shame because i prefer using it, not sure if its broken or if something changed on it or what.
