I installed the TWM shifter last night but when I removed the old shifter I did not pay attention to the orientation of the upper and lower ball spacers. Each spacer has an oval center. Are both spacers supposed to go in the same way? I put them both in with the oval running left to right. After everything was put back together, the new shifter has side to side play of about 1/4-1/2 inch when in gear. Is this because of how the spacers were installed? Or are the spacers worn? My car has 103K miles.
