saided question for you i noticed your from america and you have the blue MP3 how did you manage to get the 828 face and not the 919 like everyone else?

The last 250 or so MP3's were painted blue from the factory, but got the Z828 headunit like the yellow cars did.

Mazda had problems with the yellow paint on the Protege, so cut it off at 250 instead of the full 500. This is also why there are some blue cars with higher production numbers than the yellow cars.

Kenwood discontinued the Z919 somehwere in mid-production of the MP3 I think, and that is why the last 500 cars got the 828.

I think saided18's first pic says is all - GLARE!!!!!!!

HIDs stuck in halogen housings already produce a lot of glare for oncoming drivers, but the 8000k lights are even worse. I know you probably don't really care about that, so whatever.

If you actually want more light on the road, the 4200k-5300k lights put out the most light, but don't look as "cool" I guess.

I don't understand why people go for the 8000k bulbs, unless they are going for the dimmer, super blue, glare look. Here is a link with some great info:

OEM Xenon systems usually are in the 4100-4300k range. Sunlight is at 5250k. 6000k bulbs are better than 8000k as far as visibility and the blinding glare, and are not as dim as the 8000k bulbs, from what I understand.

I really don't know. was one of the last people to buy an MP3. i bought mine in October. What StuttersC says sounds right.
