Options for fixing a totally blank screen?

Hi, I'm seeking options to get a blank infotainment screen working again on a 2017 CX-5. It's the old/original one, not the upgraded android/apple one.

The screen is just totally blank.

A few months ago it started having an issue where it would go blank when I put the car into reverse. It's supposed to do the backup-camera, but then nothing. Outside of that though, it was fine. Then it started having more issues. When I'd turn on the car sometimes it would be blank, as if it was just totally off. Stereo still works, but I can't see anything on the screen to change anything of course,

Things I've tried so far:
  1. Checking all related fuses. All are fine.
  2. Three-button reset - didn't work (at least I don't think so, since the screen still doesn't work and without the screen I can't tell if it's actually doing a reset).
  3. Replace the screen - I ordered a replacement, installed it, and turned it all back on, and nothing changed - still totally blank. One plus to doing this was checking all connections involved. Nothing loose though.

I'm not sure what to do next, but I'm willing to put in the work (and avoid paying the dealer!)

Any ideas of what to try?

My suggestion (if I were you).
1. pull GPS SD card from slot.
2. discount everything you pair the system. No phone, no USB music, no AndroidAuto/CarPlay
See if it goes well after these.
If yes, put them back one by one and test it after each change.
If no, you can try to update software version... (DIY or go to a deal)

Update: It's fixed!

I ended up buying a used master control unit off ebay and that did it. Screen working, backup camera working, etc. As noted, my car is a 2017. The MCU I bought is technically a 2018, but works fine in my car.

I am not sure if it's even possible but I would ask the dealer if they can reinstall the operating system on your unit.
