the DG is designed to hold a little tighter on the latch, so takes a lil doing to get it latched down. released just fine for the half hour it was on my car though.
I'm aware of the adjustability on the latch (had to use it after my corolla had a fender bender), however what I read was the the DG did this on purpose for a tighter fit.The latch is adjustable with three 10mm bolts holding it. Any hood can be made to latch tighter, it's just a matter of loosening those 3 bolts and moving the latch assembly slightly down.
^ they could have possibly shortened the latch hook on the hood itself. I prefer to leave ours with the stock lenght and let the end user decide how they would like it to latch, since the adjustability option is there.
As far as hood pins go, we state they must be used for liability reasons. What you do in the end is up to you. I can tell you however that I personally do not use them, but I also can't go as far as making that a recommendation to everyone because that would defeat our statement that they should be used lol. If it makes anyone feel better, our latch hooks are riveted on and not screwed on like most other manufactures.
