I ran out of gas once in an old Opel Manta cruising down the interstate in Wichita Falls, Texas. I put in the clutch, went off the shoulder, down a bank, over a curb onto the access road, turned into a gas station and coasted up to the pump.

Sucks a bit more now. Its a pain in the ass to steer and you the vacuum on the brakes isn't as large as it used to be. You don't get the 3-4 free pumps of the brake pedal anymore.

I hit 0 while in the middle of a run at the track... nothing worse than seeing 0 and not knowing how long its been at 0.. kept thinking to myself: dont run out of gas!... dont want to get rear ended or have the crap beat out of you for wasting precious time on the track while they get your "out of gas" heap out of the way.....

So how far can you go? After zero. I saw 1 ONCE and I believe I was hyperventilating Im not sure

14 gallon gas tank when I have filled up when it read 0 the most I put in was 12 gallons so I would say you have roughly 2 gallons times 26 mpg so 52 miles maybe but im not going to push it to try out this theory.
