only 5 lbs of boost ... HELP !

i recently was driving and all of a sudden i only have 5 lbs of boost (normally would spike 18-19) i have checked for leaks and none. no check engine light. anybody come across this problem with their speed 3 ? i think the wastgate is shot. but i wanted to know if anyone has encountered this.

There are two things that could cause this, the wastegate is stuck open or the solenoid that controls boost is not working like it should.

Well there is a VERY SIMPLE explaination to this!! YOUR name says it ALL!!


No seriously...you just need to check to see if the pressure hose going from the turbo inlet pipe to the wastegate is ok with no holes or melting, if not there is a Very good chance that the electronic solenoid is crapping out and it running on safe mod. That happened to my Evo8 once, took me forever to figure it out, but check the simplest thing first.

this happened to me right after i installed my cp-e fmic, i checked ******* everything, the car ran like a dying horse, i was freaking out. turns out it was the simplest thing, my ******* bypass valve, i felt like a douche. good luck!
