One Year Ownership

Two years today.
Doesn't seem that long at all...

My wife still drives it almost exclusively. It has 32,000 miles on it now (WAY too much). Still runs like a top. Everything is still pretty tight. I drove it the other day for the first time in a while. The interior felt like it'd developed a few new (to me) rattles. Nothing serious, though. Still on the OE, garbage Geolandars. They've got a decent amount of life left. Were it up to me, they'd be gone now. But my wife wants to squeeze every last drop out of them.
I don't drive the car much, but I maintain it. So, I really don't have any complaints. It has been an excellent vehicle so far. Always has excellent returns on mileage. It is comfortable, and fun to drive.

Other than routine, scheduled maintenance, the car has only seen service for one issue - a clunking from the front end. It was in the first year of ownership, and was resolved simply and quickly by the dealer at an LOF service. Just torqued one or more control arm bolt (never found out which), and that solved the issue.
Only other distinguishable anomaly in two years, is sporadic, wonky idle at cold start, when the ambient temps drop at or below freezing. It doesn't occur regularly enough (it doesn't stay cold long enough here), for any repeatability for the repair's sake.

Hit 2 years old in March on my 2013 GT awd, 27K miles.

Had the service done at Mazda dealership this morning (oil change-synthetic and tire rotation), no problems found. Brought car in at 7:45am, done and hand-washed in 1 hour.

They also did the Tom Tom Nav Update MSP42 from 10.815 to 10.851, per receipt.

Haven't posted on here in such a long time! Nice to see some familiar names here still :)

My 2013 Touring AWD is now at around 1.5 years, 17,000 miles. Runs perfect, no mechanical problems, but it's accumulated a few interior rattles that will hopefully be addressed Wednesday at the dealer.

As others have said, I don't think I'd change a thing even if I had a "do over." The smaller engine has never been a problem for me, and I appreciate the couple extra MPGs - mostly for the little extra driving range.

Overall very happy owner!

This, I need!
I know for a fact mine is still running the original firmware. It has never been updated, AFAIK. ha

Thanks, both of you, for the updates! I knew i wasn't the only overly happy OG around here.

14month, 21K, still enjoy it, nothing out there or coming out is going to make me trade in or trade up. but if I have 50K large and Porsche can offer a 6speed Macan S, then........jk, nothing beats CX5 mpg

Just about to go out of warrantee with 33k on our early 2013 CX-5. Only service has been to fix vibrating side mirrors, apparently the US mirrors were heavier than the Japan ones and the door wasn't rigid enough. No squeaks, no rattles, no wind noise, no weird shifting, no electrical issues, no issues at all. Once you learn to press the accelerator quickly to downshift, the 2.0L engine is perfect. It has what you need as long as you know how to ask for it. Very consistently get 30-31mpg around town, 34.8 on whole tank summer highway 60-70mph driving, 27-29 in this crazy single digit winter on the east coast. Fun car. Only negative is the deliberately hobbled GPS when in motion.
