On the Greddy S, is this supposed to be capped off?

Hi all,

Can someone tell me if the vacum nipple I'm pointing at on the Greddy S is supposed to be capped off? I presently DO have it capped but I have no idea if it is supposed to be or not, or if it even matters. Any info here would be helpful.

that bottom nipple your referring to is for a boost source only. it dosent matter if its capped off or not mine isnt. what that second nipple does is it helps the bov open faster instead of just vacume pulling it up it has boost also pushing it up with it thus helping it open faster. to do that you would have to tap into one of your charge pipes. pm me if you have any more questions about the type s

Cool, I appreciate it. I know the main vacum source at the top of the BOV is needed for sure, I just didn't know about the other vacum at the back. Personally, my set up has been performing much better since I capped off the other vacum in question. I just don't know if that is supposed to be done or not.

what setup are you running? any stalling?

I'm running the dual set up now. No stalling at all. Prior to the dual set up, I was running the Greddy in place of the stock BPV and I didn't have any issues then either. I just wanted to check the dual set up to see if there is any difference.

I run dual with the s as well. is anybody using the pressure nipple and can say if it is benificial or not, mine is just uncapped.

That's what I'm trying to find out. 2.0t03speed gave some good advise and mentioned that it doesn't matter. I had mine uncapped and it seemed for some reason I wasn't holding boost pressure as well. So I capped it and now it seems as though I'm running smoother and boost pressure is back to previous setting.

I never bothered trying to hook it up to a boost source. Might be worth a try.

you would be one of the guys that could do that the easiest Dana, I'd have to put a tap into my cold pipe somewhere, maybe get a screw in tapped nipple, would work probably. Dammit, now i am curious as hell.

you might have a hole in your diaphragm thats a common problem with the type s but it is also a really easy fix. best way to find out if you have a hole is to take the cap off of the type s then stretch the rubber part of it out and inspect for any holes even the tiniest hole will make a difference. and if you do find out that there is indeed a hole i can tell you how to fix it as well. because it shouldent make a difference if its capped or not nothing should be comming out of it unless there is a hole in the rubber diaphragm.

this is what i planned on doing, tap it right from the cold pipe behind the bov

I hear what you're sayin'. When I keep it uncapped and I get the throttle up by hand and then let off (dropping RPM's back down to idle) I can feel blow off pressure coming out of both the BOV outlet and the vacum nipple I was talking about. When I spoke with some of my friends about their set up, they all mentioned it's normal to have some air blow out of the uncapped vacum side if it's not capped.
