So yeah, I was cruising into work today which happens to be the service department at a mazda dealer and I was starting off at the last light before I get there, when all of a sudden my car goes CLUNK!!!! REVVV!!!!!GRRIIINNNDDD!!! and is barely moving. So i cruise up to the service drive and my car is barely moving, we get the tranny off and the clutch is fine so we take a look inside the tranny and the welds went right where the ring gear connects to the diff. Its getting replaced under warranty and got a rentall, its a Daewoo and after driving it for half a day i miss my msp so much im almost to tears but its getting fixed and before they put the new one in im thinking of taking it to a tig welder and getting it reinforced. Hopefully ill have it back by friday this rentall is soooooo slooowww

Hmmm did you hear and clicking coming from what sounds like the tranny before it went. Because I can hear a clicking sound when I go from a stop in first gear. It only does it every once in a while too. I can also feel it in the pedals when it does it.

What you described I also experienced in my MSP. I can hear it and feel it in the clutch pedal. I really think it is the pedal. My clutch pedal is not very study and moves sideways. Also, look under there and there are a lot of things hooked up the the clutch pedal. There is a piece of metal bolted to the pedal that has a lot of play in it and I am sure it's causing the noise. Try engaging the pedal without starting the car you can also hear the noise.MazdaSpeed0020 said:
How long had this been going on?? Mine does it sometimes as well. But its been happening for probably 7k miles now, only on take off though, not while turning. I think that my rear motor mount is shot. I have an awr front mount and stock rear. Maybe it is the LSD but i've had it to the track numerous times and it hasn't went yet.

get that mount fixed asap mine was broken before this happened and got replace under warranty but i think it might have caused extra stress on the lsd with the moter rocking back and forth just my $.02

I need to look into the clutch pedal and also the rear motor mount, I have the AWR front mount in, but maybe I should check out the rear. Plus with the clutch pedal I dont know what I would try and fix with it.
