Ok, I did it...

Thanks everyone... My TWM short Shifter with bushings comes in Wed. I will posting up the install pic by pic hopefully Thursday night. Tunersteve has that shifter in his MS6 and it is an incredible difference, once I felt that I went home and ordered one.

hey they look real nice
what did you use to get the off, I was thinking of taking the ones off my protege

I actually do NOT like the way the MS3 looks without the side moldings. Of course, this is from the pictures i've seen.

It honestly looks more like a regular MZ3 hatch than it does the MS3. I'm all about breaking up empty space with some body lines. And if there arn't any body lines, atleast the moldings add some artificial lines (and dent protection).

Well, having been the owner of an original MZ3 (that had side moldings) and still had dents I dont see how it looks the same. Also, the side moldings are not in a position to stop door dings (people parking next to you swinging their door wide into your door). It does however make the doors very similar to the CX7. The CX7 has no door moldings and when I parked them next to each other they were the same shape just different sized.

When I see an MS3 without side moldings, imo, it enhances that bubbly look to me. The car does have rounder accents, and without those moldings, it makes it even more of a point to me. Again, this is only from looking at the pictures, and also it's just an opinion. I'll bet it looks 10x better in person.

TWM FTW!

Silver Estasy, arent you local to Novi? I am sure you will see my car at some point soon.

Someone earlier had asked me how I got them off. I just pried them up and pulled them right off. Didnt leave anything behind at all. Pretty easy!

Haha, I really planted some ideas in your head from the BBQ on Saturday, huh?

Glad to hear that you got the shifter and bushings coming...especially if you drive the car daily, it makes it so much nicer. Short shifters are definitely on my list of must-do mods now.

As for the side mouldings, I think it cleans up the lines on the car, and makes it much smoother looking. Especially when the car is cleaned up, the flat panel without any disruption looks far nicer. Nice work!

yea, at the epic east coast mazda meet we had in harpers ferry, we took the side moldings off of like 5 speeds and 3 regular mz3's

Yeah i'm local to Novi. Hopefully we'll have a get together with everyone and check it out. My experience in the past with car get-togethers, is you can't plan it too heavily or too far in advance. Everyone usually ends up backing out. It's gotta be impromtu and on the spot.

I'm definitely willing to head up to Novi on the weekend or somethin. Lots to do and places to meet up. We could plan one for a Sat night at Fountain Walk, then roll from there...maybe?

Ugh...fountain walk is surrounded by ignorant adolescence from 8pm to 11pm when their parents pick them up. Then the place gets flooded by more ignorance mixed with alcohol.

But yeah I'm down man, it's all good. I'll just follow at the back of the pack because i'm not quick with my shifting as of yet. Still gettin better, tryin new techniques here and there.

I am down for anything... Just let me know. We dont have to stay at Fountain walk for long. Just hit some roads and go wherver we go... Follow the leader.

Saturday night around 10? Fountain walk then move from there?

I like how this thread got totally jacked lol.
