Oil near the A-arm???

I left my house one day only to come home and see a few drips of oil on the garage floor. After looking under the hood and finding it to be clean, I looked under the engine to see if oil was dripping down from anywhere. I found that the mount and bushing the connects to the front passenger side A-arm was smothered in oil, but only on the bottom half... there is no signs of it dripping down from somewhere up in the engine bay. Is there oil in those bushings, or did I just hit something and splash up that was greasy? Like I said it is only on the mount, nowhere else. Just want to be sure it doesn't sound like it could turn into an issue! The car is acting fine, but that could be deceiving... Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

check your struts

Hey man,

Check to see if your struts are leaking. I had 3 go in my 07 MS3 and when the front one went it had oil leaking down the back of the strut and onto the control arm.

+1. I started finding little drips on the floor right by the right front wheel. I thought it was coming from the engine at first. Turns out it was a blown strut. Now I'm looking for new suspenders.

Thanks for all the input.... that night I wiped the oil off the bushing and it has yet to leak again. Suspension feels normal, but I don't know much about that as it is. I wrote this issue off as perhaps hitting something on the road, but not damaging to my car. What do you guys think?

I had my right rear shock replace under warranty two months ago. It was leaking.
Today my two front struts were replaced. 37k miles on them and they are completely done. No leak, but the front end sounded and felt loose. It was under warranty too. It's still sounds a bit loose over bumps, the dealer will look at it again tomorrow.

All that to say, if you see a leak, drive to your dealer and have it replaced.
