Good Evening

I have 2008 Mazada CX9 GT
150,000 KM

Oil Light is Staying on
Oil has been checked and is full.
Oil Switch Connection has been checked and cleaned

Is there any history of oil sending units going bad in CX9

Any suggestions

First I heard also.

It could be the oil pressure sensor is bad.

Since you have the GT with NAVI, you can go into the NAVI's test mode and scan out the
OBDII error code w/o external device.
Search the How-To forum for a thread I posted for the procedure.

Once you find the code, you can do a simple googling and find the description.
(actually, that is the first thing dealer's mechanic does when there is a light -> find the code -> find the description).

This would be the first I have ever seen of this on the forum. Good luck.

Depending on the quality of oil, and the frequency of service, the pump screen may be a little restricted and allowing insufficient pressure. Personally, I'd do minimal driving until; I had it checked.

Good News,

I believe we have solved the Problem.

As I mentioned first thing we tried was a fresh oil change and a new filter. We noticed what looked to be a small oil leak above the Air Conditioning Pump. It appeared to be coming from the Oil Sending Unit.

Purchased an aftermarket Oil Sending Unit (very common Oil Sending Unit same one are used in F-150 and many other ford motors) installed the new oil sending unit,, Oil light has not been on since and no oil leak

the oil leak most have been causing the oil light to come on

Nice job!

Any way you can get a picture of the part that failed for the users on here? So we all can keep a look out.
