10w30 should be fine for you year round since you're in Texas. 5w30 if you lived somewhere where it gets relatively cold.
FYI, the W represents the viscosity at cold temperatures (think of W for Winter) and the number following it is the viscosity at warm temperatures. The higher the number, the more viscous (thick) the oil is.
So if you wanted to ask that question properly, you would ask what viscosity of oil to use
