that was even with tax out the door. . but this was also back in 06. so its been 5 years since i did it. but i can get them now for about $40 from the same dealership now. its nice when the parts guys know you by name, and set up a service account for you.

I was violated then I gave ~$70 for mine. Still I have seen them on some "go-fast" parts supplier sites for even more.

What are you saying here?

What I'm saying is if you want minimum grief in the event of a catastrophic failure, get your oil changed at the dealer, hug and kiss them every time you are there and make NO, repeat NO modifications to any part of the car. Even then, be prepared for some resistance.

Take a look around the various sites at the treatment people are reporting from Mazda NA when warranty work is needed.

Meh, its not like that accross the board. And ppl only report the bad, never the good. So of course its gonna look like warrantees get voided on a whim. I've had warranty work done with my cai, even though I installed it myself

And I got one of my output shaft bearings fixed under warranty, even though I've never been to an accredited auto shop for an oil change, let alone getting it changed at the dealer
