Oil consumption for 4000km?

As I stated in the title. How much oil should the FS engine suck up. (drunk) I was suprised to see that mine took a little over a Liter for 4000km. It has been cold here in the past week, but I still find it a lot. (beer)

My engine is running on Mobil1 5w30 and OEM filter since he is at 3000km, and I'm now at 33000km.

I just want to have your thought on that subject!
Thanx, Let hear what you have to say (hear ya)

I am over 53K miles and have never lost a drop. Sounds like something is wrong.

Have someone rev the engine as you watch the tailpipe. If you don't see blue smoke or smell oil then it is likely a leak. Are there spots on your driveway?

I did some check up on the engine to see where the problem might be. I have checked all the spark plug for oil deposit, they are as clean as they can be. I also checked the exhaust gases, no smoke at all. It might be leaking from the filter or plug but that can wait. The driway is not very helpful to see spot and stuff because it is full of snow and calcium.

So the engine is not dying! Whou-ou

Might be leaking at the drain valve if someone didn't replace the gasket/washer when changing oil. These cars require a new washer every time.

since when?
I've never replaced the washer and I'm coming up on 40k miles

Maybe you use a different kind, I'm not sure. I'm using compression washers that are one-time use only (or ideally).

I guess I wasn't accurate when I said "these cars." But I guess it might be the case with the original poster.
