ok just wondering if anyone came across this...i have oil coming out of my BOV over a period of time. im thinking i just need a catch can. i also think i have that stupid PCV problem that cause the car/exhaust to smoke at idle. anyone else come across this?

I have yet to hear of oil coming from the "BOV", is it stock or do you have an aftermarket one? Also the smoking turbo at idle has been covered quite a bit, I believe guys are raising their idle or adding catch cans.

Didnt read the sig, so I would think your bov is leaking on its own, not a problem from another source.

its aftermarket BOV but there is oil through the whole intercooler system...sorry forgot to mention that

When you say BOV do you have a diverter valve that is venting to atmosphere, or do you have a BPV recirculating back to the intake? I see that you have an HKS SSQV, but how is it configured. If it's recirc, its not a BOV, it's a BPV.

But getting to your question, a small amount oil in the intercooler, boost tubes and your BPV can be considered normal if it's just a small film. But if you are accumulating oil, especially if it's enough to drip probably means you are having seal failure in the turbo.

Are you experiencing any change in performance. I'm a little bit worried that you are running a boost controller. That is not a good long term tuning solution. How are you running both a manual boost controller and Cobb AP Stage 2 mapping?

And dynoing only 240 whp with those mods? Even on a Mustang, something is not right. Can you please post an AP datalog on either a third or 4th gear pull from 3,000 rpm WOT to redline?

Edit: Also, I forgot to mention that a bad/faulty PCV valve can also cause excessive oil to enter the intake and end up contaminating the inside of intake passages with excessive oil, including the BPV/BOV.
