Also take into consideration some places will never change the filter and say the did! How will you know unless you ask them for the old one? You also have to change the 2 o-rings cause they fail too over time. Was that fram cartridge confirned to work? The mazdastuff.com filters are the mazda/ford filter and o-rings. Mazda has began to stop covering the engines that failed from improper oil changes(ie. belt wrenches causeing stress cracks in cartridge, failure to replace o-rings, and using non mazda filter medias). Sooo many 2.3 engines are being replaced from quickie lube shop half assed hope noting goes wrong jobs! Now you have to sue the shops to get the money to replace engine.

*EDIT* AFAIK the only stock spin on 2.3 MZR is the speed 6...everyone else is using the 3i one that mazda keep changing the part # on. Some parts dept will b**** and moan about looking it up. they request a 3i vin...grab one off a car on lot or go looking on ebay motors for a vin...Remeber vin off a hatch isn't a 3i vin
