i was wondering what the benifit of having said coolers is for the engine.

im talking about the intercooler looking kind, how much do they cost, what do they do, how hard are they to install?

The oil-cooler in that how-to is the MSP oil cooler, not the radiator style.

The MSP oil-cooler is going to be more efficient than the radiator style. Water cooled (MSP) vs. air cooled (radiator).

The oil cooler is worth while.

Why do you think you need a tranny cooler? I'm not sure if the SWC cars are running one or not, but I doubt you would need one.

I wouldn't think that the watercooled oil coolers would be better, 170 deg. coolant vs. 50-100 air. not to mention 250 deg oil is gonna heat up your coolant pretty bad on the hotter days

Air doesn't cool as well as water...The water oil-cooler is more efficient...

Chris is just stating that water absorbs heat faster and more efficiently. A good radiator sytle oil cooler would do the trick as well, but you would have to be moving for it to do it's thing. The water-cooled units work while moving, and while sitting still. I recently installed the MSP oil cooler on my MP3 using the instructions TheMAN put together. anyone got any pics of radiator type coolers?

what does it take to install such a cooler? do you need an oil pump or any other stuff? where do you tap the line off of?

go to the links....

those threads have links to manufacturers of the stuff you are looking for ...including pcitures

no you dont need a pump...go to the links

i found tons of info at jegs and the perma-cool website, i think i found all the info i need (i think) :p

You are going to want a fan with that one...

DUH! I have a water cooled computer.

but 180 deg. water will not out-cool 75 deg air, when you have a fan on your cooler

Air doesn't have the same heat transfer properties as water. Hence the air temp has to be signifcantly cooler to make up for the difference. The air temp will not be 75 degrees around 210 degree oil in the damn air-to-air oil cooler.

If you get a damn fan it will, it's about volume of air. I never said an air cooler alone would do it on it own. The coolest you will ever get your oil with the MSP style is 180 deg (or whatever the thermistat is set at) but you do you're own thing... I'll do mine

You don't want the oil to be any cooler than 180...

do you think air or water would be a better?

air is about 80 bucks and i have read that water is like 300

After everything is bought, air is going to cost more than $80 dollars.
