Yeah. So my car got hit tonight. I was sitting in my apartment and heard my alarm go off. I ran outside to see a vehicle speeding away. I checked my car...scratch down the driver's side...and the doors are dented in. Great. Just f'in great. I'm so depressed right now, I'm not even pissed. The worst part is that I'm friendly with the prime suspect. :wtf:

More later.

*sigh*

That sux man. Person sped off huh? Frienliness ends right there once you find out the truth. That person needs to own up.

That sucks bro

If he was there before he will be back again, look what coloer paint is on your car and keep your eyes out for a car that is damaged were you live, just an Idea,...

Yup, will do. I also set up a video cam in my car last night after it happened. We'll see how things turn out.

this totally sucks ass......I really feel for you guys that are living in apartments with all those people that don't give a flyin rats butt about anyone elses things.....I can remember way back when, when I lived in apartments....and it totally sucked. I didn't even try to have a nice car back then...as peoples cars were always getting dinged, banged, and just plain ripped off....and we lived in some of the nicer appartments too! it just sucks ass....plain and simple...

Dino, did you get a good enough look at the car to know what kind it was? the plate? anything conclusive?

seriously.....there would be an ass whippin going on.....and seeing has how it happened on PRIVATE property.....there really isn't much you can do about it, unless they come forward and volunteer to have your car fixed. You can't even press hit and run charges....

Buddy....we feel your pain....we really do.

You should aske Big_ben about his issues with living in some of the nices apartments in Arlington, and yet his and other cars that park there get randomly vandolized (not Sapril!).

Thats why I am very glad My parents let me live with them until I ca buy a house, WITH A GARAGE!

yo thats sux! i remeber i was down the shore at point plesant and park my car on a back street. when i came back i had a nice dent on my driver side door. :wtf: it looked like the person tried to do a U-turn in the middle of the road. i was so pissed. but u can't do a god damn think about it.

UPDATE:
My car was hit at around 3:30AM...
So I called the cops and had them come over and file a report, etc.

Thankfully, there was a witness to the whole thing, who told me that it was a green Ford Ranger, etc etc...no big surprise, since that's the truck that normally parks on that side of me.

Before I went to bed, I set up a video cam in my car, and put the nightvision on to see if the guilty party came back for a look.

I woke up this afternoon and went outside to check out the car and take some pics. I also noticed the truck next to me has a bent front bumper with a little bit of yellow paint on it. The WORST part is that I'm friendly with the owner of the truck. I mean, WTF, he couldn't come to me and say "Dude, sorry I messed up your car. I'll pay for the repair"???!!!

So anyway, I called the cops AGAIN, and told them about the truck. They came over, checked it out, and brought the owner of the truck over to my apt. He told the cop that he let his friend "Kevin" drive it, yet he didn't have any of Kevin's info, such as his phone #, address, or anything. I don't know about you, but if I was to EVER lend my vehicle out to someone, It'd be to someone I KNEW something about. Anyway, he gave the officer enough vague info for them to find out who it was. The owner of the truck asked if we could settle it between us (i.e. no insurance), and I said "Yes" on the conditon that the work was done perfectly, and that I would have a decent rental car when my car was in the shop, and that it was taken care of ASAP.

So then the cop left to go to this guy Kevin's place. He said he knew EXACTLY where it was because Kevin's car was parked and was hit by a truck a few months back. Oh, the irony. After being through that, you'd think he wouldn't have done what he did. Anyway, the truck owner and I were still there talking. Then I sat down and told him this...

"Listen, I know for a FACT that the guy was drinking and driving. He has two choices here. Either 1-He gets help, takes care of everything, and signs a written document where he admits that he was drinking and driving for my personal records. Or 2-I turn the tape into the cops (you know, the video tape that was in the camera that I set up after the accident? Yeah, well later he came home. )"

I told him to relay the message, and give him my # to get in touch with me.

I called my insurance company to notify them of the whole thing, but not to put in a claim. But I have the option to do so later, just in case things don't work out. Also, I have 30 days to tell the cop anything I want, so he could write tickets, etc.

This is just ONE of the many ways that Jesus has been assraping me this month. Can't wait until it's all over.

Yeah, it's really ironic because RIGHT before it happened, I was just sitting there telling a friend how next year I want to "buy a house with a garage for my car".

:wtf:

Yeah, but I just gotta stay on his ass about it and make sure it gets done QUICKLY and CORRECTLY.

well.....it seems that good things do happen once in a while to good people.....at least the guy came clean with who was driving his truck...and on top of that is willing to get it all fixed for you...

YOU need to pick the best shop in town to do the work...as you know as well as I do...your baby deserves the best.....

and something else...MAN ARE THOSE SOME FUGLY ASS WHEELS you got on there! lol

Or so he says...

See, that's another thing I don't know...what's the best? Should I go with my Mazda dealership? Should I have them replace the doors? How about the panels? Should I have them repaint the whole car? I don't know much about body work. :-(
and something else...MAN ARE THOSE SOME FUGLY ASS WHEELS you got on there! lol

yeah yeah!

Was this statement really needed?:wtf:

Yeah, just to show that this isn't the ONLY PITA thing I'm dealing w/ right now. It's just ONE of many.

MUTHA FUCKAS should be SHOT for that kinda s***. No trial, to sittin on death row, they should be mutha ****** SHOT!
:mad::mad::mad:

I've had this happen and feel you pain. That's why Greg and I got an apartment that has a one car garage and a private driveway.

It hurts me to see your babay hurting...:(

Oh yah...

DO NOT TAKE YOU CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, but that emphasis was needed. Dealers do not have body shops, so they contract out the work to the LOWEST bidder, lining their pockets with the profits from the difference between their quote to you and the lowest bid. Sorry, but no matter how reputable a dealership is, they are only about making money.

Get a reccomendation from a friend/family member in town who owns an expensive car (BMW, Porsche, ect) who is a bit car savvy.

There is only one shop in town that I let touch my babies-they handle the insurance companies for me (cuz the wrecks are never my fault) and they do a complete detail on the car when i get it back. And let me tell you, when I had Pogo fixed when he got bit by an ugly Camry, they did such a good job that the new paint looked SMOOTHER than the factory paint! sweeeeet...they painted the whole rear fender AND bumper to make it flawless...:D

Diane - thnx for the tip, BUT I went to my mazda dealership today, and they have a full in house body shop, and said they'd do it all there. I don't have my heart set on getting it done there, BUT...the estimated price is about $2100.

LOL@ line from pulp fiction. :D
