Official 2026 Mazda CX-5 Pics and Details Released

1.2sec faster is a lot faster :)
plus the Turbo torque is a lot more . the hybrid will be like standing still.

Yes. its kind of strange from Mazda which for years did not allow touch on the infotainment claiming safety while everybody else did allow it. And now its 180 degrees the opposite
Just goes to show any corporation doesn't really care, it's just what sounds good in the marketing for the moment. For whatever reason guess they think people want these nonsense touchscreens.

I'm sure Mazda's in-house version will be better.
We can hope. From what I am reading about the CX-90 PHEV, things are not great. Mazda obviously should have waited to release it (which may be why the 26 CX-5 isn't getting the hybrid right away).

Fresh from the Japan Mobility Show…

Mazda is steadily dropping everything that attracted my wife and I to their automobiles. If I had to purchase a new car in 2026, I guess I'd be starting from scratch in my search.

With the two hard buttons below.

To me, that's telling. Because windshield defroster and rear window defogger are important to make sure they work. Because Mazda (or whichever manufacturer) can get sued and have recalls issued and such if the defroster / defogger doesn't work and someone has a crash they want to make sure it works. Those being on physical buttons says to me Mazda isn't completely confident in that touch screen interface not failing. Nor am I.

I mostly like the looks of interior other than the overgrown screen.

From what I’ve seen in other vehicles, my Ford included, those are two safety-linked items they want users to be able to turn on ASAP as it impacts seeing out of the vehicle.

Not saying I agree with the full screen approach but sharing that those two functions seem to get hard buttons in a lot of vehicles.
