I'd like to compare the 6i GT 6MT to the 6s GT 6AT. I'm sure the V6 is quicker, but wonder how zippy the I4 is.
Well I knew in Audi they called it tiptronic... (my favorite car is an RS4, use to be the RS6, then I saw the 4)... and I've heard it for Porsche, I just say it cause I'm tried of "dsg" "manumatic" "steptronic" "tiptronic" "triptronic" etc.
and according to Wiki (not sure how accurate) The Mazda one is called "ActiveMatic" screw that.... tiptronic for everyone! (rlaugh)
Do YOU want to have to remember all of THESE?!?!
Jaguar: Bosch Mechatronic
Anyways..... back on topic..... has anyone seen any of the new Mazda6s "modified" yet?
Is that a transformer?

DSG is in absolutely no way the same thing. A tiptronic transmission uses a torque converter. A DSG uses dual clutches.
LOL
I think 2009 Mazda6 owners to be will not buy them to modify them heavily at this point, mostly due to warranty. At the end of the day is a mid-size sedan (no MAZDASPEED yet) so I would only expect basic mods during the first 3 years i.e. wheels, a body kit, a lip or a CAI at the most (dunno)
Is that a transformer?
Oh I know I just mean....... usually some companies will start modding right away, to "test" parts on and stuff, you know? I was just wondering if anyone had seen anything like that of the sort.... kind of like that ONE that was posted with the graphics on it... etc. it looks like it was lowered a little bit.
Judging by how the USDM aftermarket reception for the first gen Mazda6, I highly doubt that there's anyone testing parts for the 2g Mazda6 right now. Recall that Mazda6 and even MS6 aftermarket parts development is largely driven and initiated by the consumer (pitching the idea, offering their car for fitment and testing, etc.), not the parts companies themselves.
Japan, on the other hand, will have tons of stuff released already just by the nature of that country's hyper-consumerism.
