I thought that there should be a dedicated thread for all the NYIAS news, debuts, introductions, and pics so there would not be 100s of threads about the auto show. Feel free to post any news about NYIAS that you find here.

Another contributor to what GM hopes will be a Saturn renaissance is the 2007 Aura midsize sedan, aimed at the Honda Accord. The Aura was first shown as a concept at the 2005 Detroit show. New York will be the world's first look at the production car, which goes on sale in August. The Aura design is clearly Opel-inspired, and it rides on the Epsilon midsize platform, which it shares with the Pontiac G6 and Chevrolet Malibu. GM's 3.6-liter, 250-hp V6 will power the uplevel XR models, mated to the new six-speed automatic transmission seen in the Outlook. XE models will have the 3.5-liter, 224-hp V6 and a four-speed automatic transmission. In spring 2007 Saturn will offer the Aura Green Line, a 2.4-liter Ecotec-based hybrid using a powertrain similar to the Vue Green Line.

I wish I could go, but NY is too big of a state and that's 7 hours or so away from me.

Saturn releases Outlook pics in advance of NYC debut

Saturn-outlook-silver-front-3-4-resized.jpg

Powering the Outlook is the GM 3.6-liter V6. The uplevel XR model provides an estimated (final figures are still being worked out) 267 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. The XE model is rated at 265 hp and 244 lb-ft. The engine is backed by a new Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission. The Outlook will be available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The Outlook will have 116.9 cubic feet of cargo room when the second- and third-row seats are folded, and 19.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seat when the seats are up, two more cubic feet than in GM's new Tahoe. Production of the Outlook will begin in the fourth quarter.

The Red Line version of Saturn's two-seat roadster gets its performance boost by turbocharging the 2.0-liter Ecotec engine, which also sees GM's first direct-injection use in North America. The engine produces 260 hp and 260 lb-ft, making it GM's highest specific output engine at 2.1 hp per cubic inch. It is also the most powerful production engine in the Ecotec line. The Red Line features several interior and exterior differences when compared to the Sky roadster, including dual exhaust with chrome polished outlets, 18-inch polished aluminum alloy wheels, specific front lower fascia with large brake cooling vents, and black headlamp bezels. Normally aspirated Skys are being shipped to dealers now. Red Lines will be available this fall.

I saw a saturn sky at a dealership last week. I always liked the Solstice better, and up close I definitely like the Solstice better. The Sky is even uglier up close.

I will most likely be going this Saturday. If I do go, let me know if there are any particular up close pics of cars that yall want.

I bet it will be from mid to high 20s.

I am going to say high 20s maybe even low 30s. I just saw one at a local dealer and the sticker was $26,900. I think it was fully loaded, but not 100%. I think it looks better than the Solstice. Car is absolutely beautiful in person. Of course this is one man's opinion.

Great thread....for anybody that is going please get pics and pics of that Outlook! Thanks.

i really dont dig the current maxima....cant get over the c pillar.....looks so fat, and the rear end looks generally bloated.

somehow it works a lot better for me on the M

love this time of year, specifically for this auto show. hopefully i can go next weekend
