For those who haven't met me my name is Zack. I haven't posted to the Virginia forum since I moved her much but now is as good a time as any.

I'm trying to put together a twosome or even better, a foursome for the Scout's Honor 18 hour Mountain Bike Race http://www.18hoursscoutcamp.com/ on August 21st and 22nd. It's right by Richmond, VA. Are there any takers? It sound like a lot of fun and registration isn't too expensive.

In addition, I am looking at an event the weekend of Sept. 18th. There is a Short (8 hours) adventure race in Outer banks that looks very entertaining on 9/18 (Blackbeard Adventure Race http://www.americanadventuresports.com/blackbeard.htm ) I wanted to see if anyone is up for doing something different and trying out an adventure race.

Please let me know if you are interested and we can start doing some training together and/or I can help if you need to learn some orienteering or rappel skills for the adventure race. Thanks everyone!

Come on everyone! Take off your panties (girls can too!) and let's try something different. I know that there are some fellow Mountain bikers / outdoors enthusiasts around here!

If I wasn't 300 pounds I might consider it, saddly I am

That qualifies you for the Clydesdale category! :)

Put it this way, for the mountain bike race at least, if there is a team of four, each person does one lap and then rests 3. So it's like 1hr of excercise for every 3 of hanging out. These races are only miserable if you do them solo. Even duos aren't too bad.
