OEM Cross Bar Width

Hey,

Picked up the OEM Cross Bars and got them mounted just fine. Is the maximum distance between them really just 24" or is there anything I can do to get those further apart?

I'm trying to put a Thule Tahoe 867 bag in between them and it's a bit longer.

I noticed this as well with my cross bars...kept trying to push them further but they hit the stops. I didn't see a way to spread them further.
