OBX header

its an exageration, 700 bucks is to much for a header, u can get a custom one made for cheaper than that..

.

yeah that;s too much man for a header although if u wanna it go for it and tell us,BTW hasn't anybody tried to contact obx again ??

I know it might be a little too much, but what are we to do? There is no sign of the OBX header coming soon and I am bout tired of waiting. I bet these SR Motorsports headers are just as good (if not better) and ready to ship. For some reason, the OBX is in one of those tweener stages: Past the production stage but not quite to the shipping stage. I just can't understand what the hold-up is.. Im dumbfounded (uhm)

hey but why don't u make some as u did urs and sell them ??!!?

Because then he would have to establish himself as a business...in starting a business you need Capital..probably something he doesn't have.

just find a muffler shop that does mandrel bends and get ur pipes bent and welded.. wagner has the flange for our engine, 50 bucks.. i think.. and the muffler shop should charge about 100 to 200 for bending them and welding them..

do you people know how the header affects emissions?? i'd really like to know..

Update!!!!

Check it out peeps!! I got a reply from Dave @ OBX Racing and this is his response:

The question was about when the 1.6 liter header would be released...

" We will release the 1.6L Protege header by first week of June.

Thanks

Dave-OBX
General Manager"

There ya go folks!!! The price SHOULD be around $300.00 plus shipping (according to the OBX Racing website). Can't wait till June!!

wey..

well great news dude just have to wait till then..
but are they gona sell them on the obx page?

prolly lil to none, from what i am seeing most basic upgrades just change the sound of the engine, but who knows the restrictive headers we have might be the cause of it..

More good news

I got another response from Dave @ OBX Racing and this is what he said:

" For retail sales, service, discounts and additional inquiries, please
contact: www.tuningdepot.com Their phone number is: (650) 228-1461. Please
ask for Eric or Jeff for special internet discount prices.

Thank you

Dave-OBX "

So all we have to do is call one of those guys and ask about "special pricing" and "discounts". I think after all the delays and false anticipations, we should get a BIG discount!! Maybe knock off like 50 or 60 dollars? That would be sweet!!

Checking that website, the 2ltr Protege headers are goin for $205 so try using that as a bargaining point. Good news these suckers are finally comin out, been waiting 6 months now!!!

moved to "3rd Gen engine and performance General"
