Student technician, wondering if anyone has had luck with the iPhone app "Engine Link" I have had no luck with connecting with a bluetooth ELM 327.

I would like to be able to connect my Macbook to view fuel trim/ o2 etc.
Any input would help.
Thanks

There are quite a few Windows apps that I've heard of (never used them, but seen custom x86 carputers running it), and at least 3-4 *excellent* Android apps that I've personally used (each has different strengths and weaknesses, so I install and use 'em all) including some great features such as live data logging and graphing... but sadly, Apple doesn't seem to have as strong of a community for this sort of thing!

I have no idea why that would be, but I know my friend can't find a single iOS app that will connect to this bluetooth OBD2 dongle, and I've never heard of Mac equivalents to some of the PC software. Maybe install bootcamp / parallels and see if you can hack together some of the PC stuff to work?

Thats what I hear about Apple.. Doesnt make much sense but it is what it is. Thanks for the reply!
Ill have to do some more research still I guess.

i had the same problem with mine and had to switch to an android os to be able to connect to my elm327. a lot of people i know have had the same trouble. i think it has to the with the bluetooth that apple has that somehow its restricted to certain types of devices all i know for sure is that on android you can get it to work with the torque app.
