O2 Sensors - Are they both the same?

According to the parts diagram, they are different.

For the 2.0L:
Sensor, Exh Manifold Oxygen part FS7N-18-861-9U
Sesor, Exh Pipe Oxygen part FP50-18-861A-9U

yeah, i was wondering the same thing...

i only use one (front for the rear) sensor, and i'm running fine... a little fuel rich, but that'll get fixed with some tuning.

one thing i do know, is that i think the first one measures the gases before the cat and the second one after...but i don't know if it matters if they get mixed up or not... sorry

factory worshop manual for the FS states the resistance for the O2 heaters being different, front O2 heater is ~5.6 ohms, the rear heater is ~15.7 ohms the ecu monitors the heater circuits for malfunctions, swapping them would throw a MIL

are you sure about that? the only real reason they have different part numbers is that the connectors and wire lengths are different.

thats what the manual says. it's controlled by a duty signal, it prolly doesn't give a s*** about the resistance as long the heater circuit works and responds back

Spliced in the one I had in the basement and it's all working good. CEL is always on anyway... :D

i've been thinkin about a way to build something for the heater circuit to fool the ECU so i could use the narrowband output on a WB02 sensor for the ECU, but since the heater circuit is controlled buy a duty signal to turn it on and off as well as get feedback of it's status and not just a voltage on/off i don't see anyway to bypass the heater circuit using just a resistor. i'd have to get one and crack it open or find some specs on the sensor to see what i could do.

Sorry to hi-jack, but at least I am using the search feature :). Anyway I have an DTC of p0037 and I have gathered that I have a bad o2 sensor, I just don't know which one. Can anyone help me there?

Also where is a good place to get the o2 sensors. I have heard that factory ones are the best and any other brand could affect mileage etc.

I do have an ammeter, but I have never ohm'ed out a sensor and could use some guidance on that to be sure I am replacing the correct sensor. Thanks!
