Well, in a moment of my lack of intelligence, i forgot to wrap my clip where the o2 plugs into the cars wire harness. and that clip was on the plasic vc cover above my turbo. well after a long trip i notice the clip has melted and you cant pull it apart. next moring the car is in limp mode and bearly runs. i have had this problem before when the sensor went out on my old set up. but now since the clip on the car side is melted. thats apart of the cars whole wire harness which can only be bought as a whole. 400 is best from a junk yard, 1000+ from mazda. sooo i havent found a junk yard with a whole car with a fs motor i can just clip it from and splice it in, so if that doenst work, can you just splice the sensor wires into the cars wires and just do away with the clip. im not sure but i think that clip if only there so you can disconnect the sensor and i hope it has no other resistor or anything in it.

any help with this would be great

Thanks

frank

frank,

There isnt a resistor or anything inline.

You can cut the wires and use a new clip purchased from NAPA. (Might not be the same clip but it will work)

If you need any help gimme a call.

EDIT: I wouldnt run the car. The clip has most likely caused a short and that may damage the ECU.

if im understanding what you did correctly, you dont need the clip at all. splice the wires, there is only four of them. if you need to know which go to which either i can try to remember or someone here im sure knows it.

Thanks for the help guys, im gonna try to splice them and hope i didnt kill the sensor too.

Thanks,

any more sugestions are welcome

Frank

One of the O2 wires is shielded along its length, but not sure if that shielding is present at the point where the clip is. Just something you might look out for when clipping and splicing wires, cause you don't want the signal wire touch it's own grounded shielding.
